She then talks about the decision to see an Infertility Specialist and shares a detailed account of how they began to explore infertility treatment options. Elise discusses timed intercourse, IUI and then goes into detail on IVF.
After experiencing miscarriage and so much heartbreak, Elise shares how it effected both her internally and her relationship with her husband. Remaining Hopeful Through Infertility: An In-Depth Look at IVF with Elise Hunter
Jun. 28, 2020 – In this week’s HOT TAKES episode the girls spout off on a lot of random but relevant topics that are affecting moms today. But first, they begin the show by revisiting some of their Instagram chats from the previous week – like Sarah’s hat style and the great minivan debate! It was so fun to hear from listeners on this one and how it was split right down the middle honestly! Sarah shares that she would drive one if her husband would buy one and Lauren is still in love with her her SUV.
The girls then dive into the stress of COVID here in AZ with the increased numbers of cases these past few weeks. Unsure of what the fall holds for their families, you hear them have some real candid talk on the subject (one of their classic rant sessions really) as they start off by sharing what their school district’s preliminary plans are for reopening. The topic then moves to how we’re all just burned out as mothers at this point and the frustration Sarah has with the media’s constant negativity. They both confess that they have to take periodic breaks from reality really, just to reset and focus on their homes and happy places.
The girls then touch on their summer favorite, BIG BROTHER which they were desperately hoping was going to return this summer. The show is an ultimate quarantine experiment, with strangers locked in a house filmed 24/7. Between the fun, competitions and drama it’s their summer fave for sure!
They then switch gears and offer a few fun (and sexy) at-home date night ideas – from old school making out to a sexy dice game. Hopefully, something they share can spark some fun at home during this time of social distancing.
Closing the show with their hits and misses, Sarah shares her hit of the LEGO storage system she has and how it’s been working and Lauren’s miss of not keeping kids on track with reading and summer school practice. This is a fun, fast-moving one that you’ll hopefully find some relatable messages in!

HOT TAKES: The Great Minivan Debate, Our COVID Rant & At-Home Date Ideas
Jun. 15, 2020 – In this episode the girls sit down with Chanelle Cozette, better known as “The Gut Girl” and discuss a wide range of topics that all relate back to “the gut”. From mental health to IBS and other GI issues – it’s a fascinating and in-depth look at what effect our gut has on our body and overall well-being.
Chanelle starts off the episode sharing how she became The Gut Girl. She tells the story of how she was born into poverty and often had concerns about when and where her next meal would be coming from. And how that experience then fed a fast food diet in her early adult years. Chanelle shares some of the health challenges that she developed around 18 including chronic PMS and endometriosis and how she was able to correct those issues with treating the gut issues she was facing.
Chanelle opens up about her passion for learning all about the human mircobiome and shares many fascinating statistics that the girls were shocked to learn. They review what “the gut” is and all of the various aspects of that term and the importance it plays in generating needed bacterias and hormones for body and brain health. Did you know that 95% of all serotonin made in the body originates in the gut? Shocking, right?!
They then discuss autoimmune disorders and how gut health can drastically effect that. The girls then move on to discussing probiotics and Chanelle offers a lot of insight all of the various forms of probiotics. They talk Chanelle’s program Love Your Gut that helps identify potential food sensitivities and some of the more in depth testing that can be done by qualified professionals. Hear Chanelle’s approach to clean eating and indulging on those curtains days when you need! She even answers the question of organic vs. non-organic when grocery shopping (and her answer just might surprise you!)
This episode is an insightful look at how our health can improve when we start identifying potential gut issues and focusing our eating on the functionality of food. Listen now and make sure to SUBSCRIBE to the podcast for more fun content.

Best of “The Bachelor” & Listener Questions Answered
Jun. 5, 2020 – In this episode you hear us respond the George Floyd protests that emerged across America this past week and all of our thoughts & feels on what’s happening. We know this is DEEPLY personal issue and that so many emotions/feelings/sympathies are running high right now. So, regardless of where you are personally on this issue, we hope you listen with a kind & gentle ear.
We heavily debated whether or not to even speak about the subject because we didn’t want to isolate or offend any of YOU – the friends & fellow mamas that we’ve gained through our show over the past year. We battled feelings of not feeling educated enough or confident enough to speak on things that we don’t 100% know how to navigate ourselves right now. But we came to the conclusion that many of you may be feeling the exact same way we are. You may be sad, inspired, overwhelmed, confused, encouraged, heartbroken, and on and on……
For that reason, we met up late Wednesday night, 6/3/20 and hit the record button. It’s not perfectly said and doesn’t have a clear solution, but hopefully you hear that it has heart. And know that these are our truths on what we’re committed to doing within the walls of our homes to make a better tomorrow for us all. WE LOVE YOU! xo – Sarah and Lauren

Finding Purpose, Peace & Understanding: Our Reaction to the Protests of 2020
Jun. 1, 2020 – In the episode the girls breakdown the phenomenon that is MOM BRAIN… and yes it’s a real thing! The girls recall on their individual experiences – starting with “pregnancy brain” and all the the forgetful and spacey feelings that they had during those early parenting days. And let’s be real, there’s still many of those kind of days!!
Sarah shares some fascinating research that has been done in the scientific community that provides proof that what we call “mom brain” is actually due to some changes that occur to a mother’s brain activity during motherhood. It’s very obvious that “mom brain” is a true thing and that it actually happens – which validates all mamas in all the right ways! They even discuss how a mother’s brain works throughout the early years with kids, discussing the true aspect of love at first sight.
The girls close out the show with their classic hits and misses. Lauren shares the story behind a scary car accident she had recently and Sarah shares the urgency she has to get her 2019 taxes sent in!

Breaking Down "Mom Brain" and the Biology Behind It!
May 24, 2020 – In this episode the girls bring back the HOT TAKES format and discuss current events that are happening at the moment. This past week the CDC released Guidelines for reopening schools and the girls share their initial thoughts and opinions of what it all means and what it may look like for our children. They speak openly about their views on the reopening and share what might be dealbreakers for them if certain things get taken away from the public school environments. Would you consider homeschooling if school looked drastically different for our kids? It’s by far the most political show thus far as you hear the two girls discuss what it’s like for them to process all of the changes that have come as a result of the Coronavirus.
They then share an older movie that they watched this week which can only be described as “FREAKY” in how much it portrays what we’re all going through right now. They chat all about the comparisons to today’s Coronavirus world and the crazy foreshadowing that occurs in this film.
The topic then switches gears to a lighter note as the girls discuss the recent viral photos of 70 year old Vera Wang and the fountain of youth that she’s clearly found! They candidly share what they think are the most common signs of aging and what they’ve seen personally on themselves. Sarah opens up about a cosmetic procedure she’s considering and they wrap up the show with their hits and misses of the week – which include Lauren’s first excursion post-Quarantine and Sarah’s epic miss which was a first for her!

HOT TAKES: Is School Forever Changed?! Contagion & Common Signs of Aging
In Episode 62, “How We Named Our Children & Essential Summer Gear”, we share some of our favorite summer items. With the exception of the 2 infant items that are mentioned in the show, all of these things have been used by our families and we legit LOVE THEM! Go listen to the episode for our full run-down on each of these items!
Mambobaby Float This was a reference from our friend Jen who had so many good things to say about this baby float. It isn’t filled with air, so you don’t have to worry about it popping – and it provides a relaxing and safe float for your little one (both on their tummy or back). The harness is also a total game-changer! Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Outdoor Blanket Target doesn’t have the one that’s referenced in the show – so here’s a similar option on Amazon. You will LOVE this blanket. It’s so handy for picnics, the beach or just laying down on a hot surface by the pool. It dries quickly and cleans up super easy! Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Wet/Dry Bags Don’t wait – run to your Target right now!! These wet/dry bags are in the dollar spot for only $3 (such a steal!). They can be used for transporting goggles, sunscreen, valuables at the beach and obviously wet swimsuits. There’s isn’t a direct link on their website for these – so here’s a photo of the ones we got this year!
Mesh Bag Totebag ON SALE right now for $19!! This mesh bag is seriously the PERFECT mom bag for days spent at the pool or beach. The zipper on the bottom is a little cooler where you can store food/drinks and the open portion on top is perfect for all the swim toys and gear you have to bring along. The mesh fabric lets the sand escape easily and seriously is just so practical – we promise you will LOVE this. Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Turkish Beach Towel Last year we both made the switch to the Turkish beach towel and it has been the best decision ever! These are so lightweight and easy to transport, we swapped out or bulky Costco towels for these. They also dry super quick compared to the heavy towels which we also really like (because our kids are in and out of the pool constantly and hate when their towel is super wet). We both got ours at Marshalls last year so we weren’t able to find a direct link – but these are similar on Amazon! Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Rayban Dupe Sunglasses for Kids OK, by far the BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK on this whole list. For only $10.50 you get a 12 pack of kids sunglasses that are super cute and just as sturdy as ones you’d find at Target. Sarah’s children all use them and they fit her 3 yr old, 5 yr old and 7.5 yr old. Let’s be honest – kids are brutal to their sunglasses. They are constantly bending them, throwing them, poking out the lens or worse (am I right?). So, save your sanity and get these – they’re basically disposable for this price and would last you all summer! Update: It looks like they are no longer carrying the all-black version (which is what Sarah got). They have other colors here which is what we’re linking. We wanted to make sure and share the exact ones we bought because we know the quality is on-point. Hopefully black will restock soon! Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Pop-Up Play Pool This was a reference from our friend Jen and she raves about it! It’s a little pop-up play pool that is perfect for the pool or beach to keep your little guy entertained. It comes with a little shade and folds up into a FLAT circle for easy transport. You’ll LOVE this – wish we would’ve had it when our kids were little! Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector This is a favorite of Sarah’s for her summer skin. While it’s a little on the pricey side ($47) it’s way worth it and lasts you all summer long. With SPF 30 it offers some protection and just gives you a natural glow. Find it anywhere to sells Laura Mercier. Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Roll Up Visor Hat This is a favorite of Lauren’s for sunny days. For only $8 at Target, you get a super cute straw hat that is EASY to transport. It rolls up when you’re not using it and let’s be honest – that’s a game changer. Is there anything more annoying than packing a cute straw hat you just bought for vacay just to open up your suitcase and find it mangled?! The top of this hat is also cut-out so you can totally rock a cute up-do and keep it in-tact. Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Sarah’s Favorite Cover-Up For 3 years now this has been Sarah’s FAVORITE swim cover up. It shows just enough skin and the button detail is super cute. The fabric dries quick and the dress keeps its shape. It’s a flattering little sundress that is totally worth the spend! Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
Euro Swim Shorts for Boys Lauren is a big fan of this Euro style swim short – especially for days spent at the beach. These help prevent chafing and Lauren has purchased them year after year for all of her boys (ages 2 – 9). Even if they put them on under a traditional swimsuit, it may provide some much needed comfort for your boys on those long, sandy beach days. Zara, H&M and Mini Boden are all brands Lauren has bought. Click on this photo to be taken to the product!
We hope you enjoy some (or all!) of these! Go follow us on Insta @themomvoicepodcast for more things we’ll be sharing from Mom Voice episodes! xo – Sarah & Lauren
May 18, 2020 – In this week’s episode the girls are gearing up for Summer! They kick off the episode with a request from a listener on details behind of they named their children. Lauren loved mulling over names, whereas this was a major source of stress for Sarah. They go over how they picked their names and any special meanings behind them each. They even share a few funny stories of name stealing… which maybe so of you can relate to! It’s a fun chat about something all of us moms go through.
The ladies then move on and share a few summer essentials they have or have seen friends use. Some really great MUST HAVES! Even a few newer baby products they never owned but wish they had a few years back for their babies. The girls cover their favorite swimsuits for boys, a great beach hat and Sarah’s favorite beauty product for the sun!
They then go over their hits and misses of the week, discussing a broken dishwasher and all the piles of laundry. You know how that goes!

May 11, 2020 – In this week’s episode, the girls slow it down with a fun chat about all the taboo rules they have broken as moms (and may continue to break!). Nothing too serious but the ones that are trial & error and just have to be bent a little!! From crib care to YouTube they cover a lot of ground!
But first off, the girls do a few HOT TAKES, like the Netflix show “Explained”, top baby names and where Harry and Megan are these days.
Moving in to taboo rules, Lauren shares how she has fudged her babies age a little before buying them their own ticket at Disneyland. Or how Sarah has ordered a crib tent all the way from Australia. What’s a crib tent? Tune in to find out. They laugh and don’t take themselves too seriously because as we all know – you just have to do what works for your own family!
They continue with their hits and misses of the week where Sarah shares an update on homeschool and Lauren mentions how the family pool has taken a turn for the green!

May 4, 2020 – In this episode, the ladies sit down with Morgan Stradling, a business coach and finance guru. They have been wanting to address family budgeting for a long time, and now is a better time than any with the economy and the unknown circumstances. Morgan has followed the popular path of Dave Ramsey and her system follows it pretty closely. She shares the first baby steps of getting savings set aside to be prepared for uncertain times.
She also shares how to start paying off all debts. Sarah and Lauren interject things they do and don’t in their lives as well. Actually all three women are the ones to manage the budget in their homes. They bounce around ideas from spending fasts and to living within your means. Great tools to think about while the economy is facing such an unprecedented time.
They close out the show with their hits and misses including an update on Gus and the annoying guy in the drive thru line.

Apr. 27, 2020 – In this episode the girls start by talking about all of the health-based parenting goals they had when they first had their children. And how quickly that evolves and becomes unattainable under some circumstances. Sarah shares how she was raised in the south and that there was never a focus on ‘healthy’ eating. She opens up very candidly about the daily battle she has with food and the ongoing process it is to stay in a size that she feels comfortable. She shares her first experience with gaining weight was in her teen years when she faced a depressive episode that required medication; and the impact that had on her waistline. Lauren also comments on the insecurities and thoughts she’s now carried around for so long as well.
They then open up and share most of the different diets that they’ve tried… from Weight Watchers to Whole 30 they cover a lot. They provide their raw and honest review of each and also share what they think works best for them. The girls repeatedly emphasize that healthy eating and diets are NOT ‘one size fits all’ and that they are just always trying to improve and build better habits.
They then wrap up with their hits and misses of the week where Lauren shares a scare that she experienced with her youngest. It was a terrifying reminder to not get too comfortable once they exit the toddler stage.

Dieting Like a Mother (Real Talk on our War with Weight Loss!)
Today is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. A tradition started on this day back in 1970 to celebrate this place we call home – and remind us all of our duty to preserve it.
Since we’re all homeschooling today, we thought it‘d be fun to incorporate some Earth Day themed activities into the schedule. And to simplify your Pinterest searching, we’ve gone ahead and found some great ideas and activities that can be scaled based on your child(s) age. Below are some easy lesson outlines, crafts, easy science projects and a nature walk guide. These were all FREE printables we found on TPT and other resources. We’re just providing them here for ease of use. (Please note that we did NOT create these – and they’re solely the property of the talented teachers/mamas who produced them.)
We hope you find a moment for yourself today, mom! Take a minute and go lay in the sun! ☀️ Soak up some of Vitamin D and find your zen. You deserve it! (and if you want an easy listen while you’re taking that moment… we happen to know a fun mom podcast… just sayin’…).
Apr. 13, 2020 – In this episode the girls discuss a topic they’ve thrown around for months! BIRTH ORDER. At first it may not seem like much but a lot of genetics and science goes in to your role within the family line up.
Sarah listened to a professor speak on the different characteristics to the oldest, second oldest, middle child and youngest. Both ladies were shocked comparing how spot on they’re children were, and they’re own families they grew up in. They discover that the birth order even effects your parenting style and who you more likely to end up marrying! Just WILD! They swap stories and comparisons throughout with their usual banter.
Lauren and Sarah both divulge how their oldest can definitely be hardest and the struggles they are currently dealing with. They get lengthy and chose to skip their hit and misses this week because there was just too much to say on the topic!

Birth Order, Explained! (and The Affect it Has on Our Family)
Apr. 6, 2020 – In this episode the girls are back this week after a short one week break due to Coronavirus. After weighing out options to abide with Coronavirus mandates, they found a way to make it happen. The girls share what they’ve both been experiencing during their own quarantine time and the roller coaster of emotions they’ve gone through between the kids, husband and home life.
Lauren’s been dealing with retail therapy which she really wants to stop! And Sarah has been slammed with work while juggling the kids and her husband now working at home! Both can’t get over the weirdness that’s going on across the country and speak super candidly about it – but yet they recognize that literal history is being made before their eyes.
This is a laid back, casual conversation that they hope you can relate to. The girls were so wheels off this go they didn’t even prepare their hits and misses for the week – but let’s be real, that’s just how it goes right now!

They chat about the universal things everyone faces when they get married; everything from communication to conflict resolution. They open up about some of the struggles they’ve had with their husbands as it relates to family dynamics and also touch on how parenting styles evolve as a way of how we’re raised.
While no one way is right, they make the point that we all just come to the table with such different experiences – it can take time, patience and understanding to blend in and find a balance with those relationships. The girls then share an app that they are using daily to keep in touch and have come to really depend on.
They also share a new children’s book series and then wrap up the show with their hits and misses of the week.
