Sept. 27th, 2021 – In this hot takes episode, the girls start out be sharing why they had taken down the 1st season of the podcast… and why they put it back up. What do you do when you find a new podcast? Start from the beginning or pick a newer-random one? The girls share their dream vacation home spots and Sarah then dives into a rant about why she hates to cook. Sharing an experience she had recently where she spent a ton of money on a meal and no one ate it (eyeroll!). They then spend the bulk of the episode talking about the Gabby Petito case. What’s happened as of recording on 9.20.21 and what their opinions are. They speculate and share some (maybe) unpopular opinions before ending with the week’s hits and misses. Sarah sharing her win of configuring all the smart TV’s in her house and Lauren’s miss of literal misses.

HOT TAKES: Vacation Homes, Cooking Problems & the Gabby Petito Case
Happy Wednesday! We got a lot of requests for the chore charts I showed on Instagram – so here you go! A free download that you can use for your family.
But first, a little overview of how we’ve been using them successfully in my home…
Each child has their own, personalized Daily Chore Chart. In the version I’ve provided, you can write your child’s name on the top-right of the paper and then list the chores along the left-hand side.
Here’s How We Use the Daily Chore Chart
Each morning, my kids have 3 chores to do before school or tv/play on the weekends. Those are:
Make Bed
Brush Teeth
a little task around the house
These are things that each child is responsible for in the morning and something that I feel like they can do successfully. We hang these charts on the wall outside of their bedrooms so they can check them off throughout the week. (And they find SO MUCH satisfaction out of crossing off the days!)
The Family Chore Chart is used to do family chores around the house… or chose that we all benefit from. I rotate these out from week to week depending on the needs of our home. Some of my common house chores are:
Unloading the dishwasher
Loading the dishwasher
Checking the mail
Taking out the trash
Checking the dog’s food/water
Walking the dog
Vacuuming the family room
(Just to name a few!)
A Couple More Tips:
So, feel free to download these and use them for your family! They’re pretty flexible and can be used for a variety of ages. xo – Sarah

Sept. 20th, 2021 – In this episode, the girl start out with how they could never go back from wide leg jeans. Sarah laughed as she tried on a pair of skinny jeans recently and how could we?! They continue with some some fun chat about Bennifer 2.0 then dive into the subject of Lauren’s being without her husband for the last few days. The women thought it would be therapeutic and productive to discuss how to handle when dad is away. They recognize many women do parenting on their own every day and really admire their ability and strength. But for them specifically, it can be an “out of the norm” situation when their spouse is gone – so chat about some ways to pass the time and survive! (And of course they get in a little rant here and there, ha!) They also chat about the balance of his and her time and what they’ve seen in their marriages. They close out the show with their hits and misses – Sarah sharing that she’s starting waxing again and Lauren with a successful parent teacher conference.

This moves into a discussion on how social media has changed over the years and how we have to be mindful as we use it – and really figure out how we want it to work for us. Elise shares a social media study that she had read which talks about how it was beneficial when people were actually engaging and (shocker!) being social! Hosted by Universal Orlando, Lauren and Sarah’s families have had the amazing opportunity to see both theme parks – Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. They dive into flying with children and some ways to help make it a bit more smooth! Screens always help, and some airlines are offering their own games and movie options with wifi! Lauren attempted a red eye with her family and found that it worked great for her family adjusting to the time difference! Be sure to account for jet lag with your kids. Sarah likes to keep her kids with a bedtime routine to reduce any overtired cranky kids. Sarah then shares how she loves a good hotel experience, and they spend a few minutes comparing Airbnb to a hotel stay! Lauren’s kids love staying at a hotel too, something so exciting about it. They close out with their hits and misses of the week, Sarah was so proud she went on the big coaster with her daughter and Lauren loved their sit down lunch at the park as a family. The women and their families are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with Universal Orlando and hope you enjoy this episode!

And of course Sarah’s babysitter cancelled at the last minute so she wasn’t there (don’t you hate when the sitter falls through?!) Sarah shares that her middle child is turning 6 this week, and how old and official that feels. Lauren shares a thought she discussed with her sister, that we should never suppress a generous thought. You never know what a little love can do. Sarah shares off the cuff examples of how’s she’s helped some elderly people in the last few days, and it actually has them dying laughing by the end of the show. Go show some love to someone who may need it!

She empowers women to feel good in their own skin whether it includes makeup or not – just finding what you’re comfortable with.
